HI... I am travelling out to Tenerife 3rd September .Im a sea fisherman who has a reasonable amount of experience and Im of sound mind.
I was wondering if any one would be interested in taking me out. to taste the fishing life over there. Most of my fishing has been done out of Piroques in Tobago and Bahamas for wahoo and kings so I can get by. Im in London at present on 0203 592 7004 or mob 07405083076 shared expenses and a beer or two if you want...

At your next months meeting will you thank all your members on my behalf, for the support your members have given my mother Phyllis Willmott, on her last visit to sort out John's (dads) things. I hope to meet you all maybe this winter to thank you in person. David Willmott.

Thanks for your info on Tenerife fishing. It's a fascinating part of the world you live and fish in. The more I learn about fishing in the Canaries (and see for myself) the more impressed I am. Let's hope 2009 will bring some good fish to you guys.

I've passed through Tenerife a number of times in the past to get to La Gomera. Next time I'm passing through I'd like to get in contact and maybe have a beer.

Please keep us informed how your season is developing.

I noticed that you're using an article that I wrote for my good friend Captain Spike of Leadertec tackle (the one about the different types of trolling lures). If you'd like some bits and pieces for your site, I'd be happy to help out. I've fished for many of the same species of gamefish that you have in Tenerife, in areas not all that far away from you, so maybe my observations/experiences might be of interest.

Best regards

Hi from downunder, what a great website. As a shark biologist I particularly enjoyed the photo albums. Some interesting species feature there.

Not sure if any members of the group will be interested in this but a colleague and I are studying the global population genetics of the copper shark. We have the Southern Hemisphere pretty well covered but are finding it difficult to get material from the ne Atlantic. If anyone is interested in collecting samples for us from your neck of the woods please email me. All we are after is a fin clip about the size of a finger nail, plus length, sex and location information. We will send you vials to put the samples in etc. This analysis should shed light on how much exchange there is between copper shark populations in different parts of the world.

All the best for the festive season
